B-25J Mitchell, Tail No. 44-30423 — “Photo Fanny”

Here’s another Hollywood Warbird with more wartime exploits on-screen then off. This airframe banged around CONUS for awhile in the late ‘40s/1950s before it was retired. In civilian life, this plane’s gone by several names: Betty Grable, Shangri-La Lil, and most recently, Photo Fanny. The nose art’s also been updated from a more risqué version of a lady bending over in a sheer nightgown, to what appears to be Vanna White in short shorts. The plane is owned and operated by the Planes of Fame air museum in Chino, CA.

You may have seen this plane in Forever Young or Pearl Harbor.
